About the AOH Fr. Mychal Judge OFM division

Fr. Mychal Judge, OFM Division was started in 2012, by the efforts of Michael Creegan, Past State President Bruce Denault, and Fr. Kevin Downey, OFM. The division is named after Fr. Mychal Judge OFM. Fr. Judge was the Chaplain of the New York City Fire Department, and was killed while doing his work at the World Trade Center Command Center during the 9/11 attacks. Fr. Mychal Judge was a Franciscan Friar of Holy Name Province.

Our mission as an Ancient Order of Hibernians Division is to
– Promote Irish Culture and products
– Provide knowledge of Irish History and heritage
– Promote fair immigration policies for Irish wishing to become US Citizens
– Act against Irish defamation and stereotypes in advertising, media, and other forms
– Promote a peaceful and complete reunification of Ireland
– Take on Charitable works
– Defend and promote the Catholic faith, and preserve religious liberty to practice our faith
– Build camaraderie among our members

The division is a non-profit organization and raises funds through donations, and various fund raising activities. Our EIN is 46-0859764.

The division sponsors a wide range of charitable works. Past donations have gone to Catholic Charities of Arlington, VA, St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Francis House, St. Francis of Assisi School, John Paul the Great High School, Hibernian Charities, the National AOH Project St. Patrick (a religious vocations charity), St. William of York parish, and more.

Each Division meeting includes readings of Irish History so we can broaden our knowledge of it.
